THE RACE

Nicolas: ”The landscape in the morning with the high dunes was beautiful, but after i crashed my bike, it was hard to ride with a broken handlebarsupport.”

Last day in the dunes. The start in the dunes was amazing. I had a good start and could contend in the top 10 daily.

After a crash, it was mor difficult to me. My handlebarsupport was broken. I fixed it with a strap. Not as good as before and i was struggling with that crazy feeling of steering and the feedback of the frontwheel.

The second part was back in the stony Tracks. With the damaged bike, i loosed a lot of time. I was not able to push the bike as hard as i expected for today.

Back in the bivouac a have to fix my bike and to prepare the roadbook for tomorrow. It will be the last day of the Morocco Desert Challenge.

A last day in the dunes, but absolutely one for the brave: you’ll start with the north-south crossing of Morocco’s highest dunes, Erg Chebbi. From here onwards, you change your “cap” to North via a long and very sandy oued before arriving at the plains of the Hamada, close to the Algerian border. Here the terrains change and the tracks get rockier again.

After a relaxing transfer via the asphalt (respect the speed limit) we enter the gravel tracks of the Plateau de Rekkam. Beautiful plains and valleys and pure WRC and drifting fun from start to finish.
